Is there a Catalyst airdrop?
No. Catalyst has announced no token, no points and no rewards program. Its site, FAQ, terms and posts on X don't mention any of them, and it hasn't ruled a token out either. When its pages say "tokens", they mean the assets its agents trade.
What exists is a waitlist. Catalyst is in what it calls a research preview, and the waitlist form says: "We're opening access to Catalyst in batches. Leave your email to get an invitation." After you join you get a link to pass on to friends. Nothing on the site describes a reward, a place in the queue or faster access for using it.
Warning Joining the waitlist earns nothing that Catalyst has published. If a page promises a Catalyst airdrop or points for signing up, we found no statement from the company behind it.
What Catalyst is
Catalyst is a trading app run by AI agents. You describe a trade idea in plain English, and the agents build a strategy, watch for signals and place the trades. The FAQ says: "Catalyst supports spot tokens, perpetuals, tokenized stocks, and prediction markets, with more onchain and offchain assets coming soon."
Your crypto sits in a wallet provided by Privy, and the terms say of the company: "We do not take custody or control of the assets held in your Wallet". Securities trading runs through a separate brokerage account with Alpaca Securities LLC. Catalyst hasn't published a list of the chains or venues it trades on.
On 8 October 2026 the company announced a $30 million seed round led by Sequoia and wrote: "We are currently in research preview." The same day it claimed "hundreds of millions in volume" and "tens of thousands of people on our waitlist". Both figures are the company's own.
How the Catalyst waitlist works
The form asks for an email address and, if you want, your X handle. Access opens in batches, and an invite code arrives by email when your batch comes up. Fortune reported on 8 October 2026 that people were being let off the waitlist that day, and gave no date for a full opening.
Catalyst airdrop step-by-step guide
There is no airdrop to qualify for, so these steps only get you into the app.
- Check that you can use it. You must be at least 18. The terms bar people from countries under US sanctions, among them Russia, Belarus, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria and Venezuela, and they ban VPNs and multiple accounts.
- Open catalyst.app and press Join waitlist. Enter your email address. The X handle is optional.
- Wait for the invite code by email, then create your account with it. We didn't join, so we haven't seen this part ourselves.
- Fund the wallet only if you decide to trade. The FAQ lists Apple Pay, credit cards and "crypto assets like USDC, SOL, ETH, and BNB" for deposits. Withdrawals are in stablecoins for now.
- Describe a trade, then choose whether to approve each trade yourself or let the agent act for you.
Warning The terms let you delegate signing, "allowing the AI Agent to sign and submit Transactions on your behalf without requiring your approval at the time of each Transaction". They also say: "Once executed, Transactions cannot be cancelled or reversed by Company."

Catalyst costs and fees
The waitlist costs nothing, and the FAQ says: "Catalyst is free during our research preview." What it will charge afterwards isn't published, and neither are minimum deposits. Trading needs real money, and the terms warn of "the possible loss of your entire investment".
Catalyst risks and eligibility
- No reward is promised for anything here. Whatever you gain or lose comes from your own trades.
- Once you delegate signing, agents can trade without asking you, and an executed trade can't be undone.
- The terms say: "Company is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission". No licence or security audit is published.
- To trade securities you open an account with Alpaca, which checks your identity with an ID document, a tax number and a face photo.
- The terms and privacy policy were revised on 7 October 2026, the day before the launch announcement, so expect them to change.
- The privacy policy asks you "not to share your passwords, private keys, or recovery phrases with anyone". That includes anyone using Catalyst's name.
Who is behind Catalyst?
The company is Catos Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation. Fortune names the co-founders as Justin Zheng and Dylan Iskandar and says they started it in 2025. Sequoia led the $30 million seed round. Catalyst's own announcement also lists Jump, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Selini Capital and Peak XV, and Fortune adds Coinbase and Premji Invest.
Two other businesses use a similar name: catalyst.markets, a market for betting on events, and Catalyst Markets, a forex broker. Neither is this company.
