Is there a Hashcats airdrop?
No. Hashcats isn't a free campaign of any kind. It is a paid NFT mint, and the project says so itself. Its first update states: "Nothing here is a wrapper, a points programme or a farm." Its token, $HASH, already trades, and no airdrop, snapshot or points have been announced.
Warning Taking part costs real money. When we checked on 8 October 2026, minting one cat cost 0.16368 ETH. Burning a cat in its own epoch returns 1,000 $HASH, which was worth roughly a tenth of that price on the same day.
What Hashcats is
Hashcats are pixel cats that live inside one contract on Robinhood Chain. You can't simply buy one from the project. Your browser searches for a hash below a moving target, using your processor or graphics card, and whoever finds one pays the current entry price to mint the cat. The site describes it this way: "your browser hunts for a hash below the network target, you pay the entry price of the current epoch".
Mining went live on 11 September 2026. On 8 October the site showed 9,796 cats mined and the last one mined 16 days earlier.
How Hashcats rent works
Each mint's price is split. The docs say: "70 per cent of the price stays as rent for earlier cats, 30 goes to the hook", where the hook is a contract that buys $HASH back and burns it. Rent is paid in ETH and collected by whoever owns the cat.
The source of that rent matters. The docs state: "A cat is paid by mints of later epochs, never by its neighbours". Every payment to a holder comes out of the entry price of someone who minted later.
Warning No new mints means no new rent. The entry price is the number of existing cats multiplied by 0.00002 ETH, so each new cat costs more than the last, and minting had been idle for 16 days when we looked. The 330% yearly return the project advertised for staked cats in September rested on minting that has since stopped.
Hashcats airdrop step-by-step guide
- Read the Hashcats docs and check the live numbers on the homepage first: the entry price, the epoch and when the last cat was mined.
- Set up a wallet on Robinhood Chain with enough ETH for the entry price and gas.
- Open the Mine page and connect the wallet. A solution you find works only for your own address.
- Choose CPU or GPU mining, check the cost of the next cat and start.
- When your browser finds a hash, confirm the transaction, which sends the entry price. The docs say a solution "dies with the next cat, or in about 25 seconds", so a mint can fail through no fault of yours.
- Decide what to do with the cat: hold it for rent, burn it for $HASH, stake it or sell it.
Warning Claim your rent before you sell. The project warned that "unclaimed rent transfers with the cat", so a buyer collects whatever you left behind. Staking is a one-way door for its term too: the staking page lists early exit as "none, at any price".

Hashcats costs and fees
The entry price was 0.16368 ETH on 8 October 2026, and gas on Robinhood Chain adds very little. The early cats cost a small fraction of that. You also spend electricity and time on the mining itself, with no guarantee of finding a hash before someone else does.
Hashcats risks and eligibility
- We found no audit. The main collection contract has no verified source code on the public verification services we checked.
- A single ordinary account owns the collection, the token and the hook, and the staking contracts were upgraded once already, on 18 September 2026.
- A quarter of what the hook takes in goes to the project. Its token page says: "25% of everything the hook takes in is set aside for the project".
- The site has no terms, privacy policy, age limit or country rules.
- A cat's price is whatever the market pays. Nothing sets a floor near the cost of minting.
Who is behind Hashcats?
A studio calling itself Hashing Labs says it is the "independent studio behind" Hashcats, and describes itself as "small, independent and self-funded". No person, company or country is named, and there are no investors on record.
