Is there a Nous Research airdrop?
No. Nous Research has announced no token, no points program and no airdrop. We found nothing about one on its website, in its October 2026 note on its fundraise, in its posts about Psyche, on Nous Portal or in recent posts on its X account.
The talk of an airdrop comes from its funding. In April 2025 Fortune reported a $50 million round "financed almost entirely by the crypto venture giant Paradigm" and wrote: "The round values Nous at a token valuation of $1 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter". The same article said Nous was "still deciding whether users will be rewarded with a proprietary token created by the startup or Solana's native cryptocurrency." Nothing official has followed.
Warning A token named NOUS on Solana, and posts announcing a "NOUS Token Launching Q2 2026", don't come from Nous Research. No official Nous page lists a token, and that quarter passed with no launch.
What Nous Research is
Nous Research is an AI lab that publishes its work openly. Its homepage says: "We created Hermes Agent, the most widely used open source agent harness in the world." Hermes Agent is free software, and Nous Portal is the account behind it, described as "the one account that fuels all of it: the models, the tools, the cloud."
The crypto part is Psyche, a network for training AI models over the internet. Its launch post says: "Coordination happens on the Solana blockchain, ensuring a fault-tolerant and censorship-resistant network." Nous launched it as a test network on 14 May 2025. The latest model it trained there, in December 2025, links a contract on Solana's devnet, the test version of the chain.
How Nous Research Psyche rewards would work
So far only on paper. Psyche's documentation describes reward points shared equally among the computers that finish each round of training, which the creator of a training run can swap for a token of their choice. The docs' FAQ still speaks of a time "once rewards are implemented". The code also holds a contract for token airdrops with vesting, which the security firm Halborn audited in December 2025. None of this has been switched on with a named token.
Running a node isn't open to everyone. The docs say: "NousNet runs are permissioned. To join, you need the run administrator to authorize your wallet." You also need Linux and an "NVIDIA GPU with sufficient VRAM for the model being trained".
Warning Psyche's site has a mining pool where people send USDC so that compute can be bought for training. The pool page itself says: "Any capital contributed to this pool is purely a donation and for testing purposes only." A Halborn audit found: "Once a lender deposits collateral, there is no path for them to withdraw or redeem it."
Nous Research airdrop step-by-step guide
There is no airdrop to qualify for. If you want to use Nous's products before any token news, these are the official ways in.
- Create an account on Nous Portal. You can sign in with email, Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Discord or a wallet. The free tier costs nothing and covers free models only.
- Install Hermes Agent from Nous's official docs and sign in with your Portal account.
Warning The official install is a command that downloads a script and runs it in your terminal. Copy it only from Nous's own docs or GitHub, never from a post or a direct message.
- Join the official Discord through the invite on Nous's site, discord.gg/nousresearch.
- If you have data-centre-class GPUs, read the Psyche docs on GitHub and ask a run administrator to authorise your wallet.

Nous Research costs and fees
Hermes Agent is free, and the Portal's free tier costs $0. Paid plans cost $20, $100 or $200 a month, each with about 10% extra in credits, and top-ups start at $10. The terms say: "All Fees are non-refundable." Running a Psyche node takes your own GPU and SOL for transaction fees.
Nous Research risks and eligibility
- Nothing you do with Nous's products is promised a reward. Any airdrop is speculation.
- Psyche is still a test network. Its legal page says testnet tokens "have no economic or monetary value".
- Promoters have pushed a Portal waitlist for an airdrop. Nous has made no airdrop claim, so treat such links as unofficial.
- The Portal terms require you to be 18, or 13 with a parent's or guardian's account, and apply US sanctions rules. No other country list is published.
- The Portal's referral program pays out "at our sole discretion", according to the terms.
Who is behind Nous Research?
The Portal terms name the company as Nous Research, Inc., a Delaware corporation. TechCrunch names its founders as Jeffrey Quesnelle, Karan Malhotra, Ryan Teknium and Shivani Mitra, and the chief executive is Dillon Rolnick. On 7 October 2026 TechCrunch reported a $90 million round at a $1.5 billion valuation, led by Robot Ventures. Nous's own note confirms "Nous Research raised $90 million" and names NVIDIA, Microsoft's M12, Samsung, Robot Ventures, Union Square Ventures, Y Combinator and Menlo Ventures among the investors.
