OptimAI Network airdrop guide

OptimAI Network credits rewards to people who run nodes that supply bandwidth, compute and data for AI. Its Island event, open since 8 October 2026, is a quiz that pays points. The OPI token has not launched.

Is there an OptimAI airdrop?

Not one with published terms. OptimAI credits node operators with a balance it calls OPI, but its docs say the public token launch hasn't happened, and they give no chain, contract address, supply or date. The FAQ says: "Detailed tokenomics will be released when the TGE plan is ready to be announced." It adds that the team is "keeping the detailed plan confidential to avoid unnecessary hype, speculation, or confusion".

The one place OptimAI itself uses the word is the node dashboard. The Claim button on the rewards balance is switched off, with this note: "Claim functionality will be enabled following our blockchain launch and final airdrop distribution." No page says when that will be, how much will be distributed or what counts toward it.

Warning Nothing published says that Island points or node rewards convert into OPI at any rate. Treat the balance in the dashboard as a number with no promised value.

What OptimAI Network is

OptimAI describes itself as "a decentralized system for live context, agent execution, user-owned memory, data validation, and contributor rewards". In practice, people run nodes that share bandwidth, computing power and data tasks for AI products, and the network credits them with rewards. The homepage says it runs on an "OP-Stack Layer2 Blockchain".

There are three kinds of node: Lite, a browser extension; Core, a desktop app that needs Docker; and Edge, a phone app.

How the OptimAI Island event works

Island is a quiz inside the node dashboard. It isn't a token event. OptimAI opened it for a look around on 6 October 2026 and started the race on 8 October. There are six mystery boxes, each with a question about OptimAI. Finishing all six pays a bonus and puts you in the queue for early access to Router, a product that lets you serve an AI model from your own computer at a price you set.

Scoring rewards speed and accuracy. OptimAI's post says: "Your first try pays the full points, plus up to +20% if you answer within 10 seconds". A wrong answer cuts the box to 50%, then to 25%, then to a sticker and no points, and you get 10 misses a day. The points come from a limited pool: "Boxes pay out while points last".

On 10 October 2026 the first Router invitations went out, and OptimAI wrote: "Haven't finished the island yet? It's still open." No end date is published, and neither are the points per box or the size of the pool. Router access is OptimAI's call: "This first batch went to players who are active in our community and to the fastest runs."

OptimAI airdrop step-by-step guide

  1. Create an account on the node dashboard. Sign-up shows a 12-word recovery phrase for the node's wallet. Write it down and never share it.
  2. Install Core Node from optimai.network. OptimAI's instructions say to update it to v2.0.17, and Core Node needs Docker installed and running.

Warning This step installs software that shares your internet bandwidth and computing power. OptimAI's launch post for Core Node told Windows users they might see a warning about an "unknown developer" and to click "Run Anyway". If you go ahead, download it only from optimai.network.

  3. Link your X, Discord and Telegram accounts under Missions and Rewards. OptimAI says of Island runs: "We can't approve a run while they're unlinked".
  4. Open the Router tab in Core Node, click the invite card to get your personal Island link, and open the link in a browser.
  5. Answer the six boxes. The questions are drawn from past quiz events in OptimAI's Discord, so reading those first helps.
  6. If you finish all six, watch the dashboard's notifications for Router early access.

OptimAI costs and fees

No fee, deposit or gas appears on any official page we read, and Island doesn't ask you to connect a crypto wallet. The cost is your machine and your connection. Core Node runs workloads through Docker and earns by sharing bandwidth and computing power while the computer stays on. Router goes further, because you download and run AI models yourself, and its own page says the credit amounts it shows "are illustrative".

OptimAI risks and eligibility

  • No country list, identity check or VPN rule is published. The privacy policy sets a minimum age of 13, and it defines the service it covers as the website, not the node software.
  • The terms are short and never mention rewards, points or tokens. They let the company "modify or discontinue any aspect of the Services at its discretion".
  • Balances can be changed. A dashboard notice about a bug says: "We have deducted excess points to restore fair balances."
  • The Lite extension is sold as a way to "Turn your idle internet and bandwidth into a source of passive income", and it requests the browser's tabs permission.
  • The team is thin on names. The official links page lists two founders by Telegram handle only, and the privacy policy gives a Cupertino address for the company while listing its country as the British Virgin Islands.
  • No security audit is published.

Warning A Telegram channel at t.me/OptimAI_Network copies OptimAI's posts and advertises "Up to 65% VIP Returns Daily" for deposits. It isn't linked from any official page. The only Telegram link on OptimAI's links page is t.me/optimainetwork. Don't send money to anyone using OptimAI's name.

Who is behind OptimAI?

OptimAI names its backers on its own blog. One post says it is "proud to be supported by CMC Labs", and another says: "We are honored to be part of YZi Labs EASY Residency Season 1". Neither gives an amount. The founders appear on the official links page as @andrew_optimai and @ryan_optimai, with no full names.
