Is there a River airdrop?
Yes, and it runs in seasons. River's docs say: "Dynamic Airdrop Conversion is the conversion mechanism between River Pts and $RIVER." The pool is capped: "A total of 1 billion River Pts correspond to up to 30 million $RIVER". Since May 2026 the points come in "Recurring Seasons aligned to each quarter", and Season 7 runs from 1 October to 31 December 2026.
Points from the season before can be claimed now. On 5 October River posted: "7k eligible users can now connect your X / wallet to claim River Pts. The claim window stays open until S7 ends." That means 31 December, and River's blog adds: "Anything left unclaimed after that date is forfeited."
Warning River changed its web address on 4 September 2026. Its blog says: "river.inc is dead, so swap any bookmark to riverai.inc." Many old links, including some inside River's own docs, still point to river.inc. Use only riverai.inc addresses.
What River is
River describes itself as "building a chain-abstraction stablecoin system that enables cross-chain collateral, yield, and liquidity". It used to be called Satoshi Protocol. Its stablecoin, satUSD, is minted against BTC, ETH, BNB and liquid staking tokens on 11 chains, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Arbitrum.
The RIVER token already trades: "The token went live on September 22, 2025". The supply is fixed at 100 million, and the same contract address, 0xdA7AD9dea9397cffdDAE2F8a052B82f1484252B3, is used on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Base.
How River points and conversion work
Season 7 points come from four places. You can stake RIVER: "Stake $RIVER to earn River Pts." You can use satUSD across its chains and the DeFi apps built on it. You can post through River4FUN: "Connect your X account to River4FUN to participate. Post content, join community activities, and follow ongoing campaigns to accumulate River Pts." And River promises partner campaigns, which it hasn't dated yet. Progress shows weekly: "Weekly snapshots run every Saturday, and the River Pts you earn show on the S7 Leaderboard after each one."
Claimed points are converted into Staked RIVER, not loose tokens. You pick how long it stays locked, from 3 to 24 months. A 3-month lock keeps only 30% of the base amount, while a 24-month lock keeps all of it. For Season 7, "Staked Until dates step forward one quarter, from April 1, 2027 out to January 1, 2029".
The rate moves too. River says: "S7 ideal rate will be 0.01", so 10,000 points would give 100 Staked RIVER at that rate before the lock cut. In practice, "The actual rate updates every block. Always confirm the actual rate and the remaining daily cap before converting." When many people convert at once, the rate drops.
River airdrop step-by-step guide
- Check that you're allowed. River's terms say: "You do not reside in the United States, Canada, or other excluded jurisdictions" and ban VPNs used to get around that. You must be 18 or older.
- Open app.riverai.inc/airdrop. Don't use any river.inc link.
- Connect your wallet and your X account. If you earned Season 6 points, "The page displays the eligible River Pts balance". Claim them before 31 December 2026.
- To convert, check the live rate and the daily cap first, then "Choose your Staking Epoch, 3 to 24 months" and confirm on BNB Chain.
Warning Staked RIVER stays locked until the date you pick, and a short lock gives up most of the amount. The price of RIVER can fall a long way while it's locked.
- To earn Season 7 points, the free route is River4FUN: connect X and post. The other routes, staking RIVER or using satUSD, put your own money in.
Warning Minting satUSD means borrowing against collateral. River's FAQ says that if your position falls below the minimum ratio, "your collateral will be sold to stability pool providers for satUSD to repay your debt".
- Check the leaderboard after each Saturday snapshot. The Season 7 claim date isn't set: River says it will be "confirmed through official announcement".

River costs and fees
Claiming and converting cost only network gas, and the terms say: "Network fees apply and are non-refundable." Posting through River4FUN is free. Minting satUSD carries a one-time fee: "Minting Fee: Calculated as the Base Rate + 0.5% (minimum of 0.5%, maximum of 5%)." Swapping satUSD back to USDT or USDC is slow: "Please note that there is a 3-day lock-up period for withdrawals." Smart Vault deposits stay locked until the vault ends.
River risks and eligibility
- River has rewritten the rules more than once. In November 2025 it paused conversions and bought back points it had sold, then launched new conversion systems in December 2025 and May 2026.
- What you get depends on what everyone else does. River's own example: "Same input, same 3-month staking epoch, three different rates, three different amounts of Staked RIVER."
- Fewer people are taking part. River counted 82,000 eligible users for Season 5 and 7,000 for Season 6.
- The terms were last updated on 20 December 2024, before the token existed, and never mention points or seasons. They cap River's liability: "In no event will the total liability of the Provider Parties exceed the amount of one hundred US dollars (US$100.00)".
- River names Scalebit, Supremacy and Billh as auditors, but its audit list has nothing for the Season 3.0 conversion system or RIVER staking.
Who is behind River?
River grew out of Satoshi Protocol, whose founder and chief executive appeared in a 2024 press release only as "Naka". No company name appears in River's terms, which follow Cayman Islands law. A 2024 press release carried by The Defiant said "The funding round was led by CMS Holdings and RockTree Capital", for a $2 million seed round. In January 2026 a sponsored press release on Decrypt announced an investment from Maelstrom, the fund founded by Arthur Hayes. Ventureburn reported a $12 million round that month, and Cryptonews reported that "Tron founder Justin Sun invested $8 million in DeFi project River". River's own pages give no amounts.
