Is there an Abstract airdrop?
No, and there won't be one. On 6 October 2026 Abstract announced that it is winding down after almost three years, and the chain shuts down on 15 December 2026. Igloo, its parent company, decided against issuing a token to keep it going. TokenPost reported that Igloo wasn't confident a new token would have lasting demand.
The XP that users collected since January 2025 won't be turned into anything. Abstract's migration terms say the wind-down does "not include tokens, airdrops, distributions, profit shares, rewards, or redemption of XP, points, streaks, or badges". Cube, the company running the migration, commits only to keep a record of each account's XP for six months after the shutdown, and the terms say that record creates no right to a token or an airdrop.
Warning Abstract is not launching a token, so any site or message offering an Abstract airdrop claim is a scam. The team has also warned users about unofficial migration links and impersonators.
What Abstract is
Abstract is a consumer-focused Layer 2 on Ethereum, built by Igloo Inc., the company behind Pudgy Penguins. You used it through the Abstract Global Wallet and the Abstract Portal, where games and apps paid weekly XP.
In its announcement Abstract said that running a chain only for consumer crypto "has ultimately proven to be unsustainable as a standalone model". It named a restricted DeFi ecosystem, thin liquidity, little institutional interest and a smaller budget than rival chains. By then more than 144 apps had been deployed and over 400,000 users onboarded, according to Crypto Briefing. Igloo says it will put its resources back into Pudgy Penguins, its NFTs and the PENGU token.
Abstract migration step-by-step guide
Warning You have until 15 December 2026 to move your assets off Abstract. The migration page says anyone who doesn't migrate by that date "will lose access to their funds".
- Open the Abstract Migration Hub and check that the address is exactly migrate.abs.xyz. Connect the wallet that holds your funds on Abstract.
- Bridge your assets to another chain. The hub shows the routes it supports, and it also lists the native Abstract bridge, Stargate, Relay and Jumper as alternatives. Crypto Briefing reports a delay of about three hours on the native bridge.
- Check what you hold inside apps. The terms say NFTs, staked or locked assets, liquidity positions and funds held through an app may need action outside the hub. Follow that app's own instructions, which the hub links under "All Project Specific Instructions".
- Finish early. The terms say each exit has its own deadlines to start and to complete, which can fall before 15 December, and that a submitted transaction isn't necessarily a completed transfer.
- Don't send new funds to Abstract.

Abstract costs and fees
The Migration Hub charges no fee of its own. You pay network fees and whatever the bridge you choose charges.
Abstract risks and eligibility
- Funds left on Abstract after 15 December 2026 become inaccessible.
- XP has no value. It won't be redeemed, and no token is coming.
- Assets locked inside apps can be harder to move than tokens in your wallet, and each app sets its own rules.
- Abstract says its teams will help apps move to other networks. Whether a given app moves, and where, is up to that app.
Who is behind Abstract?
Igloo Inc. raised $11 million in 2024 to build Abstract. Founders Fund led the round, and Fenbushi, 1kx, Everest Ventures Group and Selini also took part, according to The Block. TokenPost reported that Igloo spent tens of millions of dollars on Abstract without finding a sustainable path to growth. The migration terms name Cube, Inc. as the operator of the Migration Hub, separate from the Abstract Foundation, a Cayman Islands foundation company.
