Is there a Cycles airdrop?
No. Cycles has no token and has announced no airdrop. Its points post from 23 September 2026 lists three ways it is "considering" to recognise points: conversion into a token "if Cycles launches one in the future", redemption like airline miles for fee credits, and points levels that unlock perks such as lower fees.
The same post says: "We don't want to force it to fit a token model, so we won't rush to launch a token." The terms add that points have no cash value.
What Cycles is
Cycles is a clearing protocol from Cycles Protocol SA, a Swiss company incubated at Informal Systems and led by Cosmos co-founder Ethan Buchman. The product you can use is Cycles Pay, a stablecoin payments app for the web, iOS and Android. It sends private payments, creates invoices, splits expenses and moves part of your balance into vaults that use third-party DeFi strategies. You hold the keys yourself.
Cycles Pay is a live beta with real funds. The points program started with the beta in March 2026, and the app moved from Neutron to Arc, Circle's Layer 1, on 16 September 2026.
How Cycles points work
Points come from missions and recurring claims inside the app: depositing funds, sending payments, creating invoices and keeping a balance. Referrals count too, through an optional six-character code at sign-up, and the team credits useful feedback and bug reports by hand.
Cycles doesn't publish what each mission pays; the values are only shown in the app. One rule is public: since 21 June 2026, claiming both balance rewards needs at least $100 in each of your main and savings accounts. Cycles removed a payment volume claim at the same time, because users were moving funds between their own wallets to collect it. No season dates, end date or leaderboard have been announced.
Cycles airdrop step-by-step guide
- Install Cycles Pay from the App Store or Google Play. You can also use the web app at pay.cycles.money, but the phone app holds your keys and signs for it.
Warning The keys live on your phone, and Cycles can't restore them. The terms say: "IF YOU LOSE YOUR PRIVATE KEYS, YOUR FUNDS WILL BE PERMANENTLY INACCESSIBLE."
- Sign up with an email code, Google or Apple, and choose a personal account. You don't need an invite code. A referral code is optional.
- Skip identity checks unless you want bank transfers. Those go through banking partners that ask for KYC.
- Fund the account with stablecoins from a wallet or an exchange.
Warning This is real money in a beta app. The terms say: "THERE IS NO INSURANCE (SUCH AS FDIC COVERAGE), AND RETURNS ARE NOT GUARANTEED."
- Use the app. Send a payment, create or pay an invoice, split an expense, or move part of your balance into a vault.
- Open Points in the app to see the missions, the claims and your total.
- If you used Cycles Pay before 16 September 2026, follow the in-app move from Neutron to Arc.
Warning Cycles says its Neutron contracts stay active only until 1 November 2026. It also reported on 22 September that Neutron had halted, so move old balances as soon as the app lets you.

Cycles costs and fees
The app is free, and Cycles advertises "No fees". It publishes no fee schedule. The terms reserve the right to charge a network access fee and other fees, and say beta pricing can end at any time. Bank transfers run through outside providers with their own charges.
Signing up costs nothing, and feedback can earn points without a deposit. Most missions need real stablecoins in the app.
Cycles risks and eligibility
- Points can't be transferred or sold. Cycles can change or cancel them at any time, and they are forfeited if the program ends.
- Vault returns vary. The terms list smart contract failure, depegging and loss of principal among the risks, and say Cycles isn't responsible for the outside protocols.
- The two published audits cover the earlier system on Neutron, and one of them was done by Informal Systems, the company that incubated Cycles. No audit of the Arc contracts is published yet.
- You must be 18 or older. Cycles publishes no list of restricted countries, but it can block places and ask for ID, proof of address or source of funds later.
- Cycles warned in July 2026 that scammers were contacting members of its Telegram group while posing as the team.
Who is behind Cycles?
Cycles Protocol SA is registered in Lausanne, Switzerland. Ethan Buchman, co-founder of Cosmos and of Informal Systems, is its founder and chief executive. Cycles says it has raised $8.7 million: a $6.4 million seed round in May 2026 led by Blockchange Ventures, with Coinbase Ventures, Compound VC and Primitive Ventures, after a $2.3 million pre-seed in 2025. The terms state that Cycles "is not a bank, money services business, or money transmitter".
