Is there an Optimum airdrop?
Not one Optimum has announced. It has no token, and its site, docs and posts don't mention one. What it's running now is a free NFT mint for its mainnet launch: "These are TurboCards: A 999 NFT collection commemorating Optimum's mainnet launch on Ethereum." The cards can't be sold: "Reminder: TurboCards are soulbound and cannot be bought or sold."
Optimum calls them a bit of fun and hints at more to come. Replying to complaints about bots, it wrote: "At the end of the day TurboCards are just for fun and to get more eyes on the actual value Optimum is creating by boosting block speeds." And: "For those who don't end up getting a card, don't worry, there will be future programs where literally everyone can get involved." No details or dates for those programs have been given.
What Optimum is
"Optimum is the Universal Data Acceleration Network that makes blockchains faster and more efficient, ready for a global digital economy." It isn't a blockchain of its own: "No. Optimum is a network that operates alongside blockchains, not a chain itself." Its first product helps Ethereum validators send and receive blocks faster, and "It is built for validators and node operators who want better economics".
It went live on Ethereum in October 2026, and its basic service costs nothing: "Signal is free for Ethereum validators." On 23 October Optimum posted: "Total Value Boosted has grown by 135,000 $ETH ($324M USD) since launch day."
How TurboCards work
Each card is tied to a real Ethereum block: "Each card maps to a real Ethereum slot where we boosted a block's journey across the network". You need a one-time code to mint one, and codes are scarce: "Some codes are being sent out to our early supporters, others will be released over twitter & Discord drops." The first public drop on 23 October had 20 codes: "Drop number 1. 20 TurboCard codes. First come, first served." Optimum then promised: "Congrats to those who minted, more drops will be coming next week!"
One code gets one card, and each wallet can mint one. The mint site also keeps hidden quest points, but Optimum hasn't attached any value to them.
Optimum airdrop step-by-step guide
There's no airdrop. These steps get you a TurboCard and put you in line for whatever Optimum runs next.
- Follow Optimum on X and join its Discord, discord.gg/getoptimum, and turn on notifications. Codes go fast.
- When a code drops, open the official mint site: "Official mint site: https://turbocards.getoptimum.xyz/optimum".
- Press Follow Optimum, connect an EVM wallet on Ethereum mainnet, enter the code and mint. You'll pay Ethereum gas.
Warning Fake codes and links circulate under Optimum's posts. Optimum says: "1 code = 1 card. Only trust codes and links from official Optimum channels." The mint never needs your seed phrase.
- Keep the card in the wallet that minted it. It can't be moved or sold.
- If you run Ethereum validators, you can also connect them for free: "Boost your node for free at: https://console.getoptimum.xyz".

Optimum costs and fees
The mint has no price set, so the only cost is Ethereum gas for the mint transaction. Optimum hasn't stated this itself; it comes from the mint platform's settings. The cards have no market price because they can't be traded.
Optimum risks and eligibility
- TurboCards are a keepsake, not a ticket to a token. Optimum hasn't promised holders anything.
- Most readers won't get a code: there are only 999 cards, and the first public drop was 20 codes, claimed within minutes. After complaints about bots, Optimum said it "may adjust the format in which codes are published to further reduce botting potential."
- No terms, country list or age rule were published for the mint, which runs on a third-party platform.
- Optimum's warning under its posts: "Any replies below this point are not from Optimum and may include phishing attempts."
Who is behind Optimum?
Optimum is run by Spice Solutions Inc., based in Massachusetts. "Prof. Muriel Médard is Optimum's CEO and the NEC Chair at MIT EECS", and "Prof. Médard co-founds Optimum with Dr. Kishori Konwar and Kent Lin". CoinDesk reported its seed round in April 2025: "The seed round was led by 1kx with participation from Robot Ventures, Finality Capital, Spartan, CMT Digital", raising $11 million. Kent Lin's team bio says he is "overseeing business development, tokenomics, and fundraising efforts", but no token has been announced.
