Tydro airdrop guide

Tydro is an Aave-based lending protocol on Ink, the Layer 2 from Kraken. Supplying or borrowing earns TydroInkPoints, which factor into the planned INK airdrop. INK hasn't launched, and all Tydro markets have been frozen since 29 October 2026.

Is there a Tydro airdrop?

Yes in principle, through the INK token, but nothing is claimable and there's no date. The Ink Foundation said in June 2025: "INK tokens will be distributed to participants of the liquidity protocol through an airdrop." In April 2026 it added: "Each platform has its own separate allocation pool. Collected points factor into the $INK TGE". Tydro is one of those platforms. We found no announcement of a separate Tydro token.

The conversion rate from points to INK and the size of Tydro's pool aren't published. The app also warns: "Points and any future rewards are discretionary and may carry eligibility requirements, including identity verification".

Warning All Tydro markets were frozen on 29 October 2026. Tydro said: "Out of an abundance of caution surrounding recent reported exploits, all Tydro lending markets have been frozen." It added: "Users can continue to repay loans, withdraw assets, and liquidations will continue as normal." You can't open a new position until it reopens, and no date has been given.

Warning INK hasn't launched, so any site offering an INK claim today is one to avoid. The Foundation says official INK updates "will only come from the Ink Foundation at inkfnd.com and on X @inkfndhq".

What Tydro is

Tydro says: "Tydro is a decentralized, non-custodial liquidity protocol built on Ink and powered by Aave." Ink is the Layer 2 network released by Kraken. Tydro runs on "the Aave V3 codebase under a commercial agreement", in Aave's words. You deposit assets to earn yield and borrow against them.

It went live on 15 October 2025, and "Tydro v2 is live" followed in August 2026. Aave reports: "At its peak, Tydro accumulated $600 million in total deposits with $350 million in TVL". Those are peak numbers, not current ones.

How Tydro points work

The app says: "Deposit or borrow and points accrue to your wallet automatically, with nothing to stake or sign up for." Tydro sets a weekly budget of TydroInkPoints for each market and pays them through Merkl, a rewards platform. Your wallet gets a share of the pool for its market. Campaigns have run since 14 October 2025. The current week runs from 28 October to 4 November 2026 with "100,300 TydroInkPoints" in total.

The weekly budget has shrunk a lot. Merkl data shows about 410,000 points a week at launch and about 100,000 now. Tydro hasn't said whether points keep counting during the freeze, or when Season 2 ends.

Season 2 added boosts of up to 50%. They don't add points: "Boosts don't create a bigger reward pool." They change your share, and "a larger share goes to wallets that have already supported Tydro". The categories are:

  • OG users, capped at 20%. Used Tydro before 30 September 2026, were an early Aave or Morpho Optimizer lender, or were active on Ink before 25 July 2025.
  • Lending track record, capped at 30%. A history of DeFi lending, a large balance on Aave or Tydro held for 30 days, or migrating funds to Tydro.
  • kBTC holdings, capped at 25%. Holding kBTC or its Tydro versions, from $100.

Don't mix these up with Kraken Pro's Ink Points, which are a separate program with its own INK pool, or with Nado points. Kraken's points are "non-tokenized and not redeemable."

Tydro airdrop step-by-step guide

The INK airdrop is confirmed in principle with no date. New deposits are blocked while the markets are frozen, so steps 3 and 4 have to wait.

  1. Check @tydroHQ for news that markets have reopened. The account x.com/tydro belongs to an unrelated musician.
  2. Use only the official site. Tydro's docs say tydro.com "is the only official URL of the tydro app and documentation". They add: "The team will never ask you to use another interface or ask for sensitive information such as private keys or personal information."
  3. Once markets reopen, bridge assets to Ink. "Using Tydro takes a wallet connected to the Ink network with some assets in it." Tydro names "Bungee, Super Bridge, the USDT0 Native Bridge, and the Aave Bridge." You'll need a little ETH on Ink for gas.
  4. Connect your wallet at app.tydro.com and supply an eligible asset. The current campaigns cover USDC, USDT0, WETH, USDG and kHYPE. Points then build up on their own.
  5. Optional: borrow, which also earns points but adds risk.

Warning Tydro's docs say: "If collateral falls in value, the gauge drops, and collateral can be lost to liquidation." Liquidations still run during the freeze, so check any open loan now.

  6. Claim TydroInkPoints when you want. The app says: "Rewards are claimable on Merkl". This is the points token, not INK.
  7. Watch inkfnd.com and @inkfndhq for INK news. Kraken says INK "will be airdropped to eligible, active Kraken clients and ecosystem participants."

Tydro airdrop costs and fees

There's no free route, since points need a real deposit. "There is no minimum amount required to supply." Every transaction costs gas, and "Gas fees are non-refundable". Borrowers pay interest and suppliers earn it. Bridging fees depend on the bridge you use.

Tydro airdrop risks and eligibility

  • Access can be restricted in sanctioned places, "including but not limited to Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine". The list is open-ended and the US isn't named. The terms don't state a minimum age.
  • The app requires you to confirm "You are not using a VPN to bypass geographic restrictions". Rules for the INK airdrop itself, including excluded countries, aren't published.
  • The freeze followed the Binance hot wallet exploit of the same day, when Aave froze its own markets. That link is our reading: Tydro didn't name the exploit, though it says "User funds are safe."
  • Withdrawals depend on the pool: "There must be enough liquidity available in the pool to complete your withdrawal."
  • The Foundation promised "industry-best practices for sybil deterrence" without giving rules, so many small wallets could be cut. Boosts also favour large, older wallets.
  • Audits have limits. Zellic reviewed parts of Tydro v2 in August 2026, but the Aave audits "do not cover Tydro's own contracts, configuration, or integrations."
  • Control is concentrated. Tydro is "managed by a Tydro governance body that operates through a multisig", and its members aren't named.
  • In April 2026 the Ink Foundation joined a relief effort "around the rsETH incident". We found no figure for any losses to Tydro users.
  • Disputes go to arbitration: "The place of arbitration shall be the Cayman Islands."

Who is behind Tydro?

Tydro's terms say: "The Services are brought to you by Pluma". They give no company type or address. The Ink Foundation, "a Cayman Islands Foundation Company", funds the incentives with Aave: Season 2 has "continued support from the Ink foundation and Aave". Ink's site names "Andrew Koller, Ink Founder", and says "Kraken unleashed Ink".

The Block reported that the Foundation's directors are anonymous. It also reported that the Aave DAO vote on the deal "passed with 99.8% in favor". We found no funding round for Tydro itself.
