Vangrid airdrop guide

Vangrid pays people to film real places with a phone, then rebuilds the clips as 3D models for AI and robotics buyers. Accepted captures earn USDC bounties, while points only measure rank. No airdrop is announced, $VAN isn't live, and Vangrid's docs say points do not convert into it.

Is there a Vangrid airdrop?

No. None is announced, and Vangrid rules out the usual route. Its docs say: "Points are a separate, non monetary measure of contribution. Points do not convert into $VAN." The whitepaper agrees, and the Vangrid Hub adds: "They are not a currency and carry no monetary value. Any future utility will be announced separately."

The token itself isn't out: "$VAN is not live." The whitepaper makes "no claim in this document about supply, issuance, price, availability or timing". Some older write-ups say points turn into tokens at launch. Vangrid's own pages say the opposite, so go by those.

What does pay today is USDC, through bounties for specific captures. The hub also mentions "a $100,000 Rewards Program", but we found no currency, dates or rules for it.

Warning No $VAN contract is published, so any $VAN claim or sale offered today is one to avoid. The app only asks for a wallet connection. Never enter a seed phrase.

What Vangrid is

Vangrid collects ground-level views of the real world for robots and AI. Its docs say: "Contributors record short videos with an ordinary phone. Those videos are reconstructed into 3D models." Buyers post funded requests for what they want filmed: "This is how data moves on Vangrid today: by commission."

The product is in early access. The capture app "runs in any browser with no installation", and there is an Android app too. The bounty board showed 1,052 bounties and $701,460 on 1 November. That figure is "Total USDC escrowed into on-chain bounties", not money confirmed as paid to contributors. Buyers are wallets, so we can't tell how many are independent customers.

How Vangrid rewards work

There are two tracks, and Vangrid keeps them apart: "Bounty rewards are money and are separate from points."

USDC bounties. "The reward is escrowed in USDC on Base before anyone starts working". Only one person wins: "The requester picks one submission, and that contributor gets paid." Everyone else gets nothing. Rewards on the board range from 50 to 4,800 USDC, before fees. Payment isn't automatic: "Payouts are processed manually today, so allow a short delay after acceptance."

Competition is quick. Only two usable bounties were open on 1 November, at 600 USDC each, closing on 8 and 26 November. By our count of the public list, the typical bounty was accepted within about six hours of being posted.

Points (PTC). The docs give one route: "Vangrid posts its own bounties for places it wants covered." The reward is points, added "after a capture has been processed successfully, not when you upload it." The app also mentions "+50 PTC daily bonus", and the hub's settings list milestones and referrals. Those rules are hidden from the hub's list, though, and the hub page itself showed no open tasks when we checked.

There is also a paid NFT, Vangrid Agents, at 0.0004 ETH on Robinhood Chain until 6 November. It's soulbound, so you can't resell it, and it adds up to 25% to your points. Since those points have no stated value, the boost has none either.

Vangrid airdrop step-by-step guide

There is no Vangrid airdrop. These steps get you filming for USDC bounties and points.

  1. Check that you're 18 or older and not in an excluded place (see below).
  2. Open app.vangrid.io and choose Capture Data. If you prefer the Android app, use the Google Play listing linked from vangrid.io.
  3. Connect a wallet: "Your wallet is your sign in."
  4. Get an access code. "You need one to upload captures. You do not need one to browse bounties." The app says codes are shared in Vangrid's Discord.

Warning Don't buy or swap codes: "Sharing, selling, or farming codes results in immediate account termination and forfeiture of accumulated PTC."

  5. Allow camera access, plus location if a bounty needs it. Walk slowly around the subject and cover every side.
  6. Open data.vangrid.io, read a bounty and check that its place is legal for you to film. Submit your clip before the deadline.
  7. Complete the payment profile. The board says: "We need your email to contact you, and a CEX account with completed KYC so we can pay rewards."
  8. If your clip is accepted, wait for Vangrid to pay you by hand.

Vangrid costs and fees

Filming is free: "You pay nothing to submit. Reconstruction is covered by the bounty." The docs say contributors deal with "no gas". Your reward gets trimmed, though: "With current defaults, a $50 reward pays $5 to the platform, $5 for reconstruction, and $40 to the contributor."

You also pay in time, travel and mobile data, and if another clip wins you earn nothing. The Agents NFT is optional, and nothing requires it.

Vangrid risks and eligibility

  • Excluded: "The Service is not offered to and may not be used by residents of: Illinois (USA), Texas (USA), Washington (USA), Germany, France, Italy, mainland China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Crimea, and any other jurisdiction where the Service would be unlawful or restricted."
  • Legal risk sits with you: "You are solely responsible for the legality of every capture you submit." The terms ban private property, private offices and critical infrastructure perimeters, yet the board has carried requests such as an office stairwell. Read the terms, not just the bounty.
  • Payout details conflict. The docs say "There is no email and no password", and the Privacy Policy says it doesn't collect email or payment information. The bounty board asks for both an email and a KYC'd exchange account.
  • Footage rules conflict too. One page says "Requesters never receive raw video." Another says "the full capture and the 3D model become available on that submission."
  • Your data stays. Captures with GPS are "retained for the operational life of the network", and buyers may include "Defense and government customers under strict use restrictions". Faces and plates are blurred on the phone, but the whitepaper warns: "Redaction also cannot recover from a detector miss".
  • Points can go: they "May be subject to clawback if associated content is later found in breach".
  • The terms date from May 2026, before bounties and the NFT existed, and mention neither. Disputes go to arbitration in the BVI, and accounts can end without notice.
  • Fraud checks are unfinished: "Three of five verification layers are not deployed." We found no audit.
  • The $100,000 program has no published rules, so don't plan around it.

Who is behind Vangrid?

The Privacy Policy names "Aurevion Group Ltd., a BVI business company (company number 2208282)". The site footer says Vangrid Inc., and press reports call it a Dutch company. No official page explains the link. The team page lists Robert Brighton as CEO and Khalid Benrafik as CTO.

Tech.eu reported a $9M seed round in August 2026, naming HashKey, Borderless, Crypto.com Capital, Animoca Brands, Gate Labs and Mapleblock. Digital Today reported: "The seed round was structured as a simple agreement for future tokens (SAFT)." So investors reportedly hold rights to future tokens, while no official page gives contributors a share.
