Can you still claim the Bonk airdrop?
No. The December 2022 airdrop had no claim page, because the tokens were sent straight to wallets. The BONK Paper says the NFT holders' share was based on a snapshot and "airdropped via the Famous Fox Federation Tools". If your wallet was in it, the BONK arrived at the time.
The last official claim is over too. It was for owners of Solana Mobile's Saga phone, and Bonk wrote on 1 July 2025 that "The Saga BONK claim will be discontinued on July 31st, 2025." By then 17,599 of 20,000 claims had been made, and Bonk said "All unclaimed $BONK on July 31st will be moved back to the DAO for future incentives."
No new BONK can be created either. On 29 October 2026 the token had no mint authority on chain, and its supply stood at about 88 trillion, below the original 100 trillion.
Warning Bonk said in January 2023: "We will never ask for money in exchange for airdrops." Treat any BONK claim site, BONK airdrop ad or vote that promises BONK to voters as a scam. In July 2026 a malicious governance proposal drained about $20 million of BONK from the BonkDAO treasury, Bonk said, and Decrypt reported that the proposal had promised BONK to everyone who voted yes.
What was the Bonk airdrop?
BONK is a dog-themed meme coin on Solana. Its site tells the start in one line: "In the wake of the market disruption of late 2022, a small group of Solana builders launched BONK on Christmas Day." The disruption was the collapse of FTX, which had hit Solana hard.
The pitch was a free, fair launch. The BONK Paper said: "Unlike tokens sold to the community at criminally high valuations, BONK will be distributed for free to those actors that best serve the network." In January 2023 the site added that the team wanted "a fun memecoin where everyone gets a fair shot".
Who got the Bonk airdrop?
The BONK Paper set aside "50% of the entire supply (50 trillion tokens of the total 100 trillion)" for four groups. Bonk's own documents give slightly different splits, so these shares are rounded:
- NFT holders: about a fifth of the supply, across 40 Solana NFT projects and more than 296,000 NFTs. Decrypt named DeGods and Famous Fox Federation among them.
- Traders and DeFi users: about 15%, which a January 2023 Bonk summary described as "early openbook traders".
- Artists and collectors: 10%, for Solana artists who make one-of-a-kind NFTs and the people who collect them.
- Developers: 5%, for Solana developers who had signed up through LamportDAO. Decrypt reported that each got 25 billion BONK, worth about $300 at the time.
The rest of the supply went to 22 early contributors, vesting over three years, and to the BONK DAO. In January 2023, Decrypt reported, the developers burned 5 trillion BONK that had been allocated to them.
The Bonk airdrop for Saga phone owners
In 2023 BONK found a second group of recipients. Solana Mobile's rewards page added "Free BONK for Saga users", and Decrypt reported that each Saga owner could claim 30 million BONK.
When BONK surged that December, the allocation became worth more than the phone: about $865 on 15 December 2023, against a price of $599, by Decrypt's count. Solana Mobile posted that day: "We've officially SOLD OUT of Saga phones in the US!" Only 20,000 Saga phones were ever made. Looking back, Solana Mobile wrote: "BONK happened. Rewards happened."
How much was the Bonk airdrop worth?
Very little at first. The 25 billion BONK each developer received was worth about $300 on Christmas Day 2022, and by 3 January 2023 all BONK together had a market value of almost $58 million, according to Decrypt.
Then it took off. BONK set new highs through late 2023, and on 15 December 2023 Decrypt reported that a developer who had kept those 25 billion BONK would have held about $715,000. In November 2024 BONK passed $0.000053, with a market value of nearly $3.7 billion.
It has since fallen most of the way back. On 6 July 2026 Decrypt put BONK at about $0.0000043, around 93% below its all-time high of $0.000058.
Is there a new Bonk airdrop in 2026?
No. We found no airdrop or claim on bonkcoin.com, or in Bonk's posts on X from 28 September to 28 October 2026. What runs now is BONKrewards, where you "Lock up BONK to participate", and partner promotions that give out BONK as prizes. The site's banners also advertise a giveaway and free spins at BonkPlay, a casino. None of these is an airdrop to past users.
